Naproxen Sodium USP 500mg & Domperidone Maleate IP 10mg
Uses
Pain Relief: Naproxen sodium is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain from various conditions, including arthritis, menstrual cramps, and other acute pain.
Anti-Inflammatory: Reduces inflammation and swelling associated with conditions like osteoarthritis , rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and musculoskeletal injuries.
Nausea and Vomiting: Domperidone is used to alleviate nausea and vomiting, particularly when associated with medications that cause gastrointestinal upset.
Dosage
Usual Dose: Take 1 tablet daily, approximately 12 hours apart, preferably after meals to minimize stomach irritation.
Maximum Dose: Do not exceed 1,000 mg of Naproxen Sodium and 30 mg of Domperidone in 24 hours.
Side Effects
Gastrointestinal issues: Nausea, vomiting, heartburn, diarrhea, or abdominal cramps (due to both Naproxen and Domperidone).
Central Nervous System: Dizziness, headache, drowsiness, or fatigue.
Cardiovascular: Increased risk of cardiovascular events, particularly with long-term use of Naproxen; potential for arrhythmias with Domperidone, especially in high doses or in those with existing heart conditions.
Kidney or Liver Issues: Possible kidney or liver problems with prolonged use of Naproxen (reduced urine output, yellowing of the skin or eyes).
Precautions
Allergies: Avoid use if allergic to naproxen, domperidone, or any components of the formulation.
Cardiovascular Disease: Use with caution in patients with a history of heart disease or stroke.
